there was a time when i felt like a really small version of myself. ..kind of frozen in the who i was-- but wasn't sure who i wanted to be. i treasure that time because it is a vivid memory of a place i never have to be again. well who can say never right? it feels so good to feel blossoms and buds starting from the inside out. so many things that grab my heart, make me smile...feel like- me. now sometimes it feels like i am an ever widening circle that is sometimes in danger of getting too big for its place in the puzzle. i need to learn the art of focus!! ha... but whats new? focus--- that word reminds me of every teacher i think i ever had.
we are right smack in the middle of the new kitchen extravaganza. the beadboard ceiling is up...we are wired- but untested. next up the floor and drywall....and then everything else. :)
i feel bad for my babes as they have to take a back seat to home improvement projects some days... i don't have the space/ time/ creative energy to come up with fun projects for them as much as usual. thankfully the weather is good so we spend alot of time outside now. they are growing so fast....ari is really a little girl now. she is really struggling with the whole 'i don't want to do things for others' thing....i have tried everything i can think of. so yesterday i decided i had to be the meanie. she wanted some water while we were driving ghome and i parrotted back to her what she had dished out moments earlier...' no i don't want to share. i don't care about making others happy.' suddenly she was wanting to start over and really interested in others...but since we had gone this exact route before- i just kept it up...' no i don't want to share.' of course she had a total meltdown and when we got home we talked it through --- that is what others feel like when you don't want to share. did she get it? no idea. but i did feel like a big mean bully denying my child water. nice. like everything--- i know it's a phase. but you really do want to make the right calls....ah well.
