one day until the extra large semi truck pulls up and burly men load up all my worldly possessions.
i mean i hope they're burly because apparently i have a LOT of worldly possessions.
seriously. asian minimalism as a design style never sounded so good. eclectic vintage charm does not travel light.
four days until i load up my van with four small people who are teetering an emotional tightrope and a dog and cat with relationship issues.
but i have not forgotten thee blog. i am just up to my eyebrows in boxes and last goodbyes.
the good news is i have a three day van ride to maryland to catch up, sort and organize my pictures, write fascinating and emotionally stirring content, and deal with all the emotions of selling and leaving the only home this family has ever known.
it's going to be a big trip.
nate's pretty excited about it. ;)
so right now i am taking my cues from nella who personifies perseverance in the face of opposition.
sometimes you just want to play with your toys.
but scary dogs can show up and ruin all your plans.
sometimes the only traction you get is with your toes... but you learn they can do more than you thought.
sometimes you have to twist and reach and contort with the effort of the task at hand. sometimes your bum will stick straight up in gravity defying moves but you won't care because your eyes are on the prize.
sometimes you'll realize that people aren't helping you. they're only taking pictures of your bum.
rude.
but ultimately you will get your turtle.
and it will taste as good as it looked.
:)
practicing perseverance with my eyes on the prize.
and hoping no one is taking pictures of my bum in the process. :)

love this lauren!!!:)

ReplyDeleteHa! That made me awkwardly laugh out loud, sadly though I do it so often that my kids take no notice. Praying for your travels and transition. God has good for you. Looking forward to hearing how He meets you. And say hello to Md for me! That's where our middle child was born. :-)
ReplyDeletepraying for y'all, girl! XOXOxo
ReplyDeletethis is too sweet.
ReplyDeletei've missed you. praying your new life is just as grand as all of this--and it is, y'know? i'm sure of it. because you are there, twirling about in the middle of it.
