the best ways to waste your time

so most t.v. is stupid... it just is. it's like we aren't even interested in hiding the fact that it is stupid anymore... stupid is exactly where we are aiming. it seems like it used to be the effort was atleast there... people TRIED to make quality shows-- granted most were not.. but i can atleast appreciate the effort.

what is going on that the bottom of the barrel is not just somewhere that gets scraped once in awhile --- it is where we have set up shop and started broadcasting from??

but then like a shining beacon of hope are the few shows that are worthy of sitting through ridiculously long, mind numbing commercial breaks for.... the lovelies among the uglies.

in order-- working backwards:

1. LOST-- all the running around on an island, the symbolism, the cliffhangers, the years of not having any idea what this show is about...

2. alias -- vaughn & sidney?? are you kidding me? epic! i still miss them. plus i have a secret jealousy of female spies who get to have accents and amazing wigs and costumes...although i can't think of a worse job for me since i also have a secret fear of being chased.

3.sunday morning (with the man in the bowtie) -- this show is like a good cup of coffee... you feel calmer, smarter, more together  and like maybe you are just a little bit better of a person after it.

4. seinfeld -- how they were able to have an episode that can apply to every situation i have encountered in life is beyone me. everything i ever needed to know i did not learn in kindergarten.. it was from seinfeld.

5. magnum pi -- do i need to say more than the shorts & the mustache?? i think not.

.. now i realize this list is completely subjective... that's okay with me.

so with 10 episodes left of LOST i guess we will see if the forum of television can aspire to drag itself out from the muck once again... if not- i guess there are always re-runs! :)

  1. Ari would wig out on you if she could read how many times you said "stupid." Ha! I love watching a good show with you. :)
