dancing days

there is just something so sweet & magical about little girls and their dance classes. the tutus, the little shoes .... the legwarmers. :)

arianna has been a dancer since birth. i remember when a singing/dancing group came to church (think christian 'glee' :)) while i was pregnant... she went crazy! i literally turned to nate and said i think we have a performer on our hands! she loved watching dancing with the stars with me as a toddler and would tell whoever would listen that julianne was the best. she started dance when she was almost 3 and has adored every pink frilly moment of it. there was a time i wouldn't let her wear her big tutu to class even though she desperately wanted to... i told her i didn't think she was supposed to wear things that could get in the way of the dancing. at class that day i heard her ask miss sara..
' may we wear big fluffy things to class?' :)
graciously, miss sara said yes and we have been tutu dancers ever since.
in true ari fashion she takes it all very seriously and recites the french names for all her moves as she does them and has even taught grayson how to 'tandu' and 'sashe'...
of course the recital is the ultimate accumulation of all that very serious hard work... she grabs that dance bag, reminds me that at recitals i said she could wear my lip gloss, and says,
'let's do this thing!'
she cracks me up. a lot.

this video is of her first recital ever... she is barely 3. the girl knows who she is. i LOVE that about her.

so here is to my dancing queen arianna... may you always remember what you recently told me....
"mom anyone can dance---
because dance lives in your heart."
