i spy with my little eye....
the first strawberries of the year!

we have crazy strawberries... actually they are perfect for me. i have decided to only do business with plants that don't have a death wish. i need my plants to have a will to live... if they are on a suicide mission i am certainly not going to convince them otherwise.

i used to be jealous of people who seemed to be able to talk plants back from the edge.... now i will leave the counseling up to those with the heart for it. i will provide dirt, sun and water... and to be honest the water is hit and miss. my strawberries seem to be happy with that...and so i am very happy with them.

arianna is my picking partner... what she lacks in thoroughness she more than makes up for in enthusiasm!

and she gets to use the BIG scissors which is pretty much on her top ten favorite things to do...

grayson is really more about swooping in and enjoying the benefits of our toils in the hot sun...

"me can't carry--- it too hebby!!"

grayson is famous for his use of the stink eye as a means of conversation. i thought he had pretty much perfected the flashing of a stink eye to intimidate you, show his disgust for your opinion, sometimes to even make you laugh just so you would forget about how naughty he had just been...

using a strawberry as part of your stink eye while fighting with your sister??

now that's funny.

hopefully we will have a couple more weeks of these red lovelies. i started out with twelve plants four years ago and i have to have over 200 now! like i said...i love plants that love life!

i have run out of room for the suckers..
strawberries and in general. ;)
