island oasis

we are marching our way through our 100 days of summer list checking things off left and right. it is a good thing that in our house summer goes till labor day.
none of this mid august ridiculousness. summer wussies-- closing pools, selling coats, buying school supplies. when did labor day lose it's rightful place as the going away party for popsicles, fireflies, and late nights?? it seems august has become simply a hasty footnote instead of the last sweet breath of summer as she gives a grand finale on the slip and slide.

we took the youth leadership team to island oasis as a thank you for all their dedication and hard work. they love those kids... and we all know sometimes it is not easy to love a junior higher. :)

water is just the joy of summer. it is one of those things that keeps you tethered to childhood. it reminds you that once upon a time a slide and some big, fat water droplets is all it took to have the best day ever... and maybe it could still be that simple.

grayson was very anxious/proud that his daddy was going down the BIG slide...

and babies at the waterpark? yes please.

behold the baby knee pudge. epic.

love it. i don't know about you...
but i have learned two things that don't keep: babies and summer.
and we are squeezing every last drop out of both. :)
