the mudroom lockers

SCENE ONE:
mudroom before = always messy, frustrating, depressing

ENTER STAGE RIGHT: reclaimed wood from last year's kitchen remodel and these plans and these plans courtesy of the genius that is ana white.

FINAL SCENE:
mudroom after = containment (usually), organization (most of the time), bright and cheerful room that makes me smile since we built it all ourselves for under $80 total (definitely:))

so even though i purposely didn't 'stage' the room for pictures it was somewhat organized. that is what i like the best. everyone has their own spot that their stuff can go and if your spot is too full then maybe you don't need every pair of shoes you own out here. :) AND i finally have a place to put lu's car seat! yeah! vs. it sitting in the middle of the living room which was way annoying...our mudroom is uber tiny obviously and can get easily overwhelmed with all the coats, bags, shoes etc. this solution was the perfect use of a lot of that old kitchen cabinet wood. i also love that the kids hat/scarf boxes have the original old green color that i found when i tore off the contact paper.i am in LOVE with that knock off wood site. we have built several things from her and i love them all. even girls who say they don't like power tools (ahem..christine!!;)) could build something and love it. i promise. but it is super addicting... sometimes i dream of more rooms just so i could build more of her stuff. that's when you know you might have a problem. :) and i practically glow when arianna and i are out and see something fabulous and she says,
"mom, we could make that!"
empowering future generations with power tools....that's good stuff. :)

  3. Ah-mazing! Love it! I am inspired now; before, I thought my mudroom would be too narrow for these lockers but seeing that your space is similar I definitely feel that I CAN DO IT! Thanks! Awesome job!
